ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Pastor Daren L. Barron, born and raised in Oakland, California, is the founder and Senior Pastor of World Conquerors Church.  In the beginning, Pastor Daren was extremely reluctant to begin a ministry in Oakland, or anywhere for that matter. He desired to continue to prosper working in corporate America. Nevertheless, the call of God was so strong on his life that he left a very successful and lucrative career in the software / telecommunications field to begin his life as a Pastor. Through giving up what most would call the “American Dream” he found his purpose in life: to win souls and lead them to Christ through a practical message. In founding WCC, Pastor Daren’s goal was to create a place where people could worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ across denominational lines and to create a foundation to encourage Christians to build an infrastructure that would answer the needs of the community.

Pastor Daren was ordained by Bishop Rufus Turner at Victory In Praise Church, where he and his family spent six years experiencing God beyond their dreams. At Victory In Praise Church Daren served as Chairman of the Board and the Associate Pastor.

Pastor Daren is married to his lovely wife of 18 years, Monnique. They met while attending college in Atlanta, Georgia – Pastor Daren at Morehouse College and Monnique at Spelman College. Pastor Daren earned a B.S. in Business Management and Monnique earned a B.A. in Psychology. Pastor Daren has also attended the University of Phoenix and Fuller Theological Seminary, completing classes towards an MBA and a Masters of Divinity. Pastor Daren and Monnique were married on March 30, 1991. Together they have five beautiful children: Drew, Maiyanna, Mone’t, Mariah, and Daren Jr.(D.J.).
